Direct Dictation Model

The user speaks directly into a PC via either a wired or
wireless microphone. Microphone choices vary depending
on logistical considerations and capabilities.
- Headset - Hands free, most accurate since it
stays optimally positioned during dictation.
Useful where many dictations will be performed
consecutively or hands are occupied with another task.
- Handheld - Very accurate if used properly.
Best choice for users doing quick dictations and
frequently leaving the PC.
- Desktop - Very accurate if used properly.
Generally require quiet environments. Good choice for
users doing quick dictations and frequently leaving the
PC.

Transcription takes place in real time, inserting text
at the current cursor location. Dragon

application, including Microsoft® Office Suite, Corel®
WordPerfect®, and Lotus Notes®.
Background (Recording) Dictation Model

The user records speech on a supported recording device.

Recording gets downloaded and transcribed automatically

Transcripts can be reviewed and edited by either the
original speaker or a designated "correctionist"
