Direct Dictation Model

• The user speaks directly into a PC via either a wired or wireless microphone.  Microphone choices vary depending on logistical considerations and capabilities.

  • Headset - Hands free, most accurate since it stays optimally positioned during dictation.  Useful where many dictations will be performed consecutively or hands are occupied with another task.
  • Handheld - Very accurate if used properly.  Best choice for users doing quick dictations and frequently leaving the PC.
  • Desktop - Very accurate if used properly.  Generally require quiet environments. Good choice for users doing quick dictations and frequently leaving the PC.

   

• Transcription takes place in real time, inserting text at the current cursor location.  Dragon NaturallySpeaking integrates with virtually any Windows^®-based application, including Microsoft® Office Suite, Corel^® WordPerfect^®, and Lotus Notes^®.

Background (Recording) Dictation Model

• The user records speech on a supported recording device.

• Recording gets downloaded and transcribed automatically by Dragon NaturallySpeaking

• Transcripts can be reviewed and edited by either the original speaker or a designated "correctionist"
